Prof. Mike Meinhardt received his Dipl.-Ing. (Master's) degree in electrical engineering from Darmstadt University of Technology in 1991. In 1997, he received his Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree in Power Electronics from Darmstadt University of Technology. In 1997 he joined Power the National Microelectroniccs Research Centre in Cork, Ireland where he worked as in senior position on Systems integration of Power Electronics and the design of magnetic components for Power Converters. Since 1999 he is with SMA Solar Technology AG in Kassel, Germany. Here was initially responsible for the development of grid-tied inverters for PV, Fuel Cell Applications later head of development of off-grid inverters. Following he’s responsible for knowledge management and education of engineers within SMA. Since 2015 is working as Senior Expert Engineer Innovation Management focusing on technological and product innovations.
Since 2013 he’s a Honary Professor at University of Kassel and holds other teaching positions at several German universities. Subjects of are: Power Electronics and simulation of renewable energy systems, Renewable energies, Photovoltaics, Agile innovation management.
